Where to Eat in Hong Kong
Traditionalists may well be looking for old style Chinese cuisine in Hong Kong, and there is certainly plenty of that to be found, but you can also find high quality restaurants serving just about any type of world cuisine. Many of the top hotels have multiple award winning restaurants, and there are many Michelin stars to be found in Hong Kong.
Felix is the ultra modern restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel in Kowloon, and as well as the fabulous modern European cuisine and stylish interior, the view of the waterfront Symphony of Lights show is fantastic.
Hutong is part of the Aqua Restaurants group and is located on the 28th floor of One Peking in Tsim Sha Tsui. The traditional Northern Chinese food with a modern twist is complemented by a romantic old China interior featuring wood screens, silk curtains, red lanterns, and bamboo birdcages.
Yan Toh Heen is a Michelin Star Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese cuisine. It is located in the Intercontinental hotel on the Kowloon waterfront, and has special menus showcasing seasonal Cantonese specialties.
Bo Innovation is a unique restaurant in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong Island. It is a small intimate restaurant specialising in X-treme Chinese cuisine, where traditional Chinese dishes are reinterpreted in modern form.
The Peak Lookout is a relaxed and informal restaurant at the top of The Peak, which serves a combination of elegant Asian favorites and classic Western dishes alongside fabulous seafood and an open-flame charcoal barbecue. The view is of course one of the key attractions of this restaurant.
Lung King Heen, translated as ‘view of the dragon’ is the first Cantonese restaurant in the world to be awarded the Michelin three star rating, and is located in the Four Seasons Hotel on Hong Kong Island. It specializes in seafood and dim sum.
Caprice, a French restaurant also located in the Four Seasons hotel, is a little taste of France in Hong Kong and specializes in wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux as well as artisan French cheeses. The stunning interior includes Czech crystal chandeliers, and there is a lovely view over Victoria Harbour and Kowloon.
Azure is a contemporary bar and restaurant serving top class continental cuisine. It is located on the thirtieth floor of the LFK tower in the Lan Kwai Fong district on Hong Kong Island, and has a spectacular panoramic view of the city skyline.
