I am working up a load for this years deer season in my Rem 700 270 wsm. Most of the Sierra hollow point GameKings have skived noses which result in a very distinct + appearance when viewed from the point on view. Its extremely small aperture stood in obvious contrast to an “expanding bullet” such as the Sierra GameKing. Berger VS Sierra. Most are spitzer soft points, but a few are pointed hollow points that resemble match bullets. Came across the 168gr MatchKing the other day, and the guy behind the counter (salesman) told me that the MatchKing are hollow tips so they will expand like the GameKing.
Since bullets are so hard to find now I've been shooting a lot of 168gr Hornady BTHP Match bullets and see no difference in them compared to the Sierra.

Sierra recommends a 6.5” twist barrel for the #9290 22 cal 90 gr HPBT bullet however for cartridges like the Valkyrie, that can push them over 2650 fps muzzle velocity, a 7” twist barrel will stabilize the bullet correctly. I'm guessing the Hornady hunting bullet will yield similar results.
