All recruits undergoing training at the Lowland Brigade Depot from the Autumn of 1965 through early summer 1966 were rebadged Cameronians to bring them up to strength for their operational tour of South Arabia. Part of the security duties of the Cameronians in Aden was protecting the families of servicemen and other civilians. All ranks wore a black hackle in their Balmorals/TOS with a Douglas tartan patch and their capbadge, which at the time of their disbandment was the old Lowland Brigade cap badge.
