Looking for 357 mg 200 gr hard cast data 03-03-2011, 22:41. They will fit in a 19 but a 27 cylinder is shorter. For the 140 grain JHP the MV is 1360 fps and the ME is 575 ft. lbs. The heaviest bullet most of the powder makers provide data for is 200 grains. One of my favorite mould manufactuers. These will be used primarily in a Bergara BA13 single-shot, although if they feed through my Rossi Puma I might use them in that as well. Dedicated to pursuing accuracy with an the 357 Magnum Revolver and 357 Lever Rifle.

This load in a 5-1/2″ Ruger New Model Flat-Top clocks out at 1,333 fps.
Note that .38 Special ammunition can also be used in the .357 Magnum. .357 Magnum factory ballistics tables call for a muzzle velocity of 1450 fps for the 125 grain JHP with 583 ft. lbs. Lyman makes a 210 grain gas checked Keith design that is excellent...it was designed for the 357 Maximum in the early 1980s but it is a hunting bullet from 357 magnums for sure.

RCBS makes a dandy that drops at 200 to 210 grain and is gas checked.
My most-used load these days in a .357 Magnum sixgun is the Lyman #358156GC bullet over 14.0 grains of #2400. ... (I would be interested it the load data you are using if you can get 1200 fps from a 200 grain hardcast bullet). However, it gains right at 400 fps from the 18-1/2″ Marlin 1894 and puts three shots in 3/4″ at 45 yards. I was suprised to some degree when this bullet like to be loaded short. The Hornady .358 200 grain FTX shoots well also. It is usually exactly the same data as for revolvers.
The .357 Magnum is a useful and fun cartridge when fired from a revolver. Load data for 357 Mag 230 grain bowling-pin bullet Registered Users do not see the above ad. Looked all over but cannot find credible load data for 357 Mag and 200 gr Magnus cast RN. I'm getting ready to load some .357 w/ unique powder. Shot from the longer barrel of a rifle, though, the .357 shows a pronounced improvement in velocity and trajectory. This is well within the expansion range of the slightly larger XTP.
