Whirlwind Weekend

Whirlwind Weekend

This is from my fiance's point of view. When he explains it, it sounds so much more detailed :)
It was the day after the 234th Marine Corps birthday ball in downtown Ft Worth. The ball was held at the Sheraton hotel next to the water gardens. The night was a great night but the following morning was a little rough.
I suggested we walk across the street to the Ft Worth water gardens to get some fresh air.
We started by walking down to the bottom of the main water pit where Emily stated "This would be an awesome place to propose." I tried not to smile or let out a little smirk. The place was crowded so I figured that was not the best place to do it. We walked from there over to the Quiet Pool and walked through it slowly and I thought this could be a good place but I just did not have the right feeling plus once again we had an audience.
We finally walked over to the Aerated Pool and the place had the perfect sound, not to loud yet we could still hear it romantically. We took a few pictures and I looked around and finally we were alone.
After Emily took her mandatory 15 photos I took the camera out of her hand put it back in the case. She said "I want more photos!" and I responded "Ok but first this." I then got onto one knee and held the box out in front of me. Emily's eyes looked like they were going to explode right out of her head. Then I slowly opened the box and she finally realized what was happening. I asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with me and she barely managed to squeak out a quiet yes and frantically nodded her head. I took off her promise ring and slipped on the engagement ring stood up and received the non-stop waterfall of tears that were sure to come. I then was able to call her my fiancee for the first time.
