Ricky and Patricia

Ricky and Patricia

When I was 10 years old, I met the most adorable little boy. We were neighbors. He was quite taken with me, though I didn't know it at the time. We played together, and one day as I shared my lunch with him, we also shared a kiss. You know, the peck on the lips that makes little girls giggle. I moved away, and only saw this young man once more in passing when we about 24 years old. This past year, I found him on facebook. We talked briefly, with the occasional post or "liking" one anothers statuses. In January, I went through a bad break up and reached out to my long lost friend in a facebook message. I learned that he was in the Army and stationed in South Korea. I have an iphone and so I asked if he did too so that we could FaceTime or use Voxer to chat. We began talking that way. He comforted me and made me laugh all the time. I grew quite fond of my new companion. During one of our Voxer conversations one day, I made the comment that he was so lucky to be able to travel. He replied, you can go wherever I go. I said, yeah right! We would have to be married for that. He said, you think I wouldn't? I said right now? He answered, in a heart beat. Would you? I thought about it, and I replied with a long heart felt response, and at the end of the message I said, yes I would marry you. He said, you don't know how happy you just made me. It was only then that he confessed to me that he was madly in love with me and had been since the day we met 17 years ago. He will be home from Korea on July 15th and our wedding is July 22nd. I have never loved anyone the way I love him. I am so thankful for Facebook. My whole life is better and I have never been happier! The love of my life was on the other side of the world. But soon he will be in my arms, and that's where he will stay, forever.
