Best Unexpected Engagement Story

2 weeks after my birthday he came to help a widow friend of mine move. He drove the uhaul and was a servant as always-....I didn't suspect any romantic interest going on necessarily that day but at the end of the day he asked me if I wanted to go out on Friday night. I was like floored! We went out both Friday and Saturday night. He called me every night but one for all the days up until we got engaged. The one night we didn't talk was interesting because we both were waiting up to get a call back from the other. He handpicked me lilacs from a bush in his backyard and brought those on Friday. We ate dessert before dinner. After dinner we wanted to go to a coffee shop to sit and relax and play games...we headed to try and find the panera bread and ended up taking a fun detour to Lazy Boy furniture to try out the chairs. What that ended up turning into was a lady showing us furniture and we got a chance to share out tastes in style. He whispered in my ear he loved me there. He told me later he almost slipped saying it was for our place....it was in his thoughts and I have to admit it was in mine too! I kept thinking, so this is what it is like to go shopping w/ a fiance' but we weren't even engaged yet.

Saturday night we really bonded. We always laugh so hard till it hurts.....
Third date I came over to the house to make dinner together and because we had both been feeling a bit under the weather I made him homemade chicken noodle soup. We made sandwiches and had a veggie w/ it...and sat out on the screened porch. We played wii, and then we were in the kitchen and I said to Joe- you know what I really love is when you pick me up when you kiss me and spin me around- he teased me at first by not doing it and then he does it and goes you know it's coming! lol

Needless to say we got to cracking up so hard we both felll on the kitchen floor and couldn't stop laughing- he said it just felt right and so he proposed then. He said he knew back in January he wanted to marry me. The thing I love it is was so unexpected so like Wow...I didn't see it coming and what is so great is I knew from the get go with him. - very early on 3 years ago- I looked at him and I said he is going to be my husband. When you know you just do. He pulled down practically the entire lilac bush after he proposed. I had bare feet and we walked in the dew to the tree, walking back we held hands w/ the lilacs btwn us. We also stood on the porch arms around each other and looked at the moon while singing "Our God is an awesome God."
