Aaron & Crystal

Aaron & Crystal

In the spring of 08 I gave up looking for a good guy. It seemed like every time I started to like a guy, something always went wrong. So I told myself that I would start having fun with my friends and stop looking for a relationship.
Until one late night in July my friends forced me out of my apartment. I didn't have on makeup and I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt that said "My Brother is a Marine." We went to a little party at a friend’s house and I wasn't planning on meeting Aaron Cooper (My Fiancé.)
I was walking to the kitchen to grab beers for my friends and me, when he came up to me and said "So your brother is a Marine?" For some reason I took his question as being sarcastic and I replied “Yea… So what’s it to you?!” he responded saying “I was just wondering because I’m in the Military too.” So, I apologized and we had a 3 minute conversation about the military and I walked away to be with my friends. To be honest I didn’t remember his name.
As I was on my way into the bathroom my friend Maggie yelled “Crystal!! Hey Cooper thinks your cute!” At the time I forgot who’s name that was so I yelled “Cool, he’s cute too!” Near the end of the night everyone decided to go swimming in the neighbor’s pool.
Of course I wasn’t wearing a bathing suit so we all swam in our under wear.
I remember standing next to Aaron in the pool and thinking that I wanted him to kiss me; but then again there were a few other girls that were trying to hang all over him. So I snuck out of the pool and had Maggie take me home. I fell asleep thinking to myself that I will probably never see that guy again. But the next morning he called me and asks me if I wanted to hang out.
A few days later he drove 30 minutes to see me at my mother’s house. My Mom said to me that she had a feeling that this guy could be the one. I turned that comment down because I didn’t want to get close to him. I was afraid of getting hurt again. But since that day we were inseparable.
Aaron and I connected so much in just a couple of months. We told each other all of our secrets. We went every where together and had such a great time. I wanted to spend as much time with Aaron as possible because I found out that he was getting deployed in January. Aaron is in the United States Army and he is deployed in Iraq for a year.
Aaron would always ask me what was going to happen to us when he leaves. He asked me if I would write him while he was gone. I told him that I would Support him 110% while he is in Iraq.
October 13, 2008, Aaron asked me to go on walk with him on the Hoover Dam Bridge. We held hands and talked the whole way. He stopped me in the middle and we looked down at the water and all the trees. I remember the smell of the autumn leaves and the way the wind felt on my skin. I remember looking into Aarons eyes and kissing him. He wasn’t acting normal and I started to get frustrated. I asked him what was going on and he smiled at me, gave me a kiss, reached in his pocket, and knelt down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and I was so shocked that all I could say was “Are you serious?!” The thought came to my mind that he really is the one and I am so in love with him. I said yes.
So four months later Aaron got deployed. We talk every once in awhile and when we talk we always remind our selves that we love each other very much. I can’t wait until he comes home in January of 2010. We are so excited to be getting married to one another in June 2010. Please pray for Our Troops to be brought home safely. God Bless
